Hi! We are the Saldarriagas!
August 23, 2009
Our journey started one summer's day when I went out with my friends, and he went out with his friends. We had both decided to go dancing at a country western bar called The Banque. I used to looooove line dancing and would go there two or three times a week with my girls to dance and have a good time. This particular August night, Marcos decided to take his friends from the Coast Guard A-school out to dance and meet girls. I was tearing it up on the dance floor and adding a little flair to my step when he came over and asked me to teach him and his friends how to dance the line dances. The rest of the night he sought me out to dance with him.

He asked me to marry him at a five star restaurant. I had no idea it was coming. He had convinced me we weren't getting married, and I had fallen for it. He had me so convinced that when he asked and pulled out the ring I said, "Is this a joke? Because if it is, it's a really mean one!" After he assured me he was serious, I of course said yes and cried like a little baby.

I found out I was pregnant. Marcos had gone to work at his second job at Home Depot, and I was doing the dishes when I noticed my breasts were hurting, and I had horrible heart burn. These were two things I had never experienced before in my life. I was three days late, so I decided to run to Wal-mart and buy a pregnancy test. I called Marcos and left a message on cell letting him know that I thought I might be pregnant, I bought a test, and to give me a call when he had a chance so I could tell him the results. I got home, took the test, and sure enough I was pregnant! I drove to my parents' house to tell them the great news. My mom was the first to find out. Finally, Marcos called. When I told him, the very first thing he said was, "Who's the father?!".... My dad over heard and thought it was hilarious. Marcos was completely freaked. He hung up, but called back a few minutes later to apologize and say how happy he was.

We are having a girl! We held a gender reveal party so that everyone, including Marcos and me, would find out the gender of Baby Sal together. I SWORE up and down that I was having a boy! When we cut the cake and saw that it was pink, I actually considered that the bakery read the letter from the ultrasound tech wrong! I went from pure shock, to extreme happiness that we were having a girl! We announced the name we had chosen, Eleina Rae.
